Luxury cruise line Crystal Cruises is making major changes to its vacation approach. Beginning in 2012, Crystal will expand complimentary offerings on its two cruise ships, becoming an all-inclusive line.
After this year, a trip on the or will include free wine and spirits, open bars in all lounges and prepaid tips for housekeeping, dining and bar staff.
“Our ‘All Inclusive’ … responds to the desires of today’s upscale cruise traveler,” Crystal Cruises President Gregg Michel said in a statement. “As many lines throughout our industry have itemized their services for additional charges, Crystal is maximizing the guest experience by eliminating additional transactions.”
The changes go into effect with each ship’s first Trans-Atlantic cruise next year. The will sail from Miami to Lisbon on March 19, 2012, and will voyage from New York to London on May 8, 2012.
With prices starting at $3,660 for the and $6,445 for the , free gratuity is a welcome development.
Already included in a Crystal fare are a number of services including non-alcoholic beverages, all meals, gym access, fitness classes, golf lessons, language classes, etc. Roundtrip airfare from 24 U.S. hubs or an air credit is also included in the cabin price.
