Today I’d go … to see ‘Harry Potter’ sites
Handout Pembrokeshire Coast of Wales
With Harry Potter fever in full swing (the final movie is set to be released this fall), I find myself dreaming of going on a self-guided tour of famous locations from the movies.
Here are the Ramblers’ self-guided walking tours that visit locations where the films were shot (from an email they sent me): here
Scotland’s Highlands and Islands: Inn-to-Inn: 8 days for $3,175 departing June 11 and Aug. 27. More info here.
Pembrokeshire Coast (Wales) and more specifically Freshwater West Beach where Shell Cottage is located in the final movie, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2″ and Harry and his friends plan the break into Gringotts, the wizarding bank.
Wales: Welsh Frontiers; 8 days for $3,075, departing June 18 and Sept. 3. More info here:
Oxford, where many of the Hogwarts indoors scenes were filmed at such historica buildings as Christ Church and New College.
The Shakespeare Way (self-guided): 7 nights for $1,050, flexible departure days. More info: Here:
